Here’s a short list of some of the articles I’ve been reading over the Christmas break.

Hope there’s something you like ! Not directly interior-design related granted, but they are all about nourishing ourselves

and our communities which is what we try to do through work, by making people feel more content in the places they live.

1: A really lovely article from CN Traveller magazine about the new wonders of the world. The intro is all about how wonder defines us as human beings.

Here’s a quote from it: ‘Socrates said: “Wisdom begins in wonder.” Studies show that the awe induces deeper levels of cognitive processing;

it boosts empathy and helps us connect with the world around us in meaningful ways. Art and science are borne from it.

Wonder is more than just a good feeling; it is a seed from which our greatest treasures grow.

2: I’ll never have abs like Tracey Anderson (and that’s OK). But I am interested in  helping body and soul along the way, and her wellness programs

target this instead just focussing on what you look like in a load of lycra.  Here is one of her blogs about silencing uncertainty in ourselves.

3: Ever heard of Circus? It’s a free and very beautifully-designed magazine spreading the worrrd about the best bits of the creative industry in the South West. Here you’ll

find news on new products, events, foodie happenings, escapes, local personalities, style, seasonal content and all the rest.

4: Choose love. We know this one. Humanitarian aid for refugees and displaced people. It’s a great place to buy presents if you’re short on ideas.

All proceeds whether from donations, or buying their excellent merchandise go to building communities,  providing dignity, and acting quickly to

support people in bad situations all over the world.

5: From Secret bristol… for anyone in the Bristol area, which is most of the people we work with, here’s a great list of 11 things to do in January

which you might not know about.

6. And if you are looking for a good read and even some tips on living really well, I’d strongly recommend Michelle Ogundehin’s Book Happy Inside . It goes so far beyond what most interior design books would, looking deeply at what works and why, not just what looks good.
